ICYMI: Two of Our staff were appreciated by Ministry of Health- Uganda for their role in training CHEWs in Lira District as 164 Community Health Extension Workers from Lira City & District successfully completed their 6 months training in health promotion & disease prevention activities.

Clinical outreaches are a core strategy for making access to health services easier, especially for rural communities that cannot easily reach health facilities. The NAWEC team travels to hard-to-reach villages, taking free outreach services.

Well trained, supervised, equipped and paid CHWs will strengthen health systems hence achieving #UHC

Advocacy & storytelling are tools that can be used to make stakeholders aware of an issue and to call on them to take action. 165 CHEWs were trained in Lira District using the CHW advocacy training course which aims at equipping CHWs with the skills to have their voices heard.

With support from @GouldFamilyFoundation, Nama Wellness received an Automated Chemistry Analyzer that will be used to perform tests such as Liver Function test, Renal Function test, Lipids profile, Pancreatic enzymes test, Tumor Markers analysis and Electrolytes profile.

Engaging CHWs in identifying and assessing the nutrition status of children under 5 as well as managing malnutrition cases at community level is key in achieving SDG 2 i.e. End hunger, achieve food security & improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

Achieving UHC means access to quality essential health-care services, access to safe, effective, quality and affordable essential medicines & vaccines for all. This can be achieved through #Professionalization of CHWs i.e Training, Equipping & Remuneration of CHWs
