“The fact that between 1885 and 1960 the Darling River dried up 45 times seems to have been conveniently lost be some media commentators.”

Black root rot is a major seedling disease on cotton in #NSW, often more concerned in southern crops due to cooler conditions during the crop establishment, but this crop is in Mungindi. Back to back for the last 3yrs, disease severity (% necrosis) increased from over 5% to this.

Been checking a lot of boom sprayers of new clients lately. One thing that’s caught many, inc myself is the difference bw aitti60 nozzles left and aittij60 nozzles on right. Although they look the same, only the ones on left will give a consistent vc droplet for 2,4-d.

This photo depicts simulated drift of 0.1% of label rates on Roundup Ready cotton: 2,4-D 700 amine at 1mL/Ha (left) and XtendiMax dicamba 1.17mL/Ha (right). Highlights just how damaging 2,4-D can be in comparison to dicamba. Note, this does not excuse poor application practices.
