On 19/11/2023, police personnel manning Khuzama inter-state check gate, detected & recovered 50 soap cases of suspected heroin weighing 600 gms. approx which was concealed in a car coming from the neighbouring state of Manipur. One person has been arrested in this connection.

Acting on a tipoff regarding extortionists demanding money from business establishments in Kohima Town, Kohima Police arrested one S. Timothy Swu (28 yrs), an active member of NPGN/NNC (Non-Accord) along with his accomplice Nokget Konyak (25 yrs).

Today’s stop: Taxi Stand below Hotel Japfü and Two-Wheeler Taxi Stand, Razhü Point.
Purpose: To create awareness about basic driving/riding etiquette and road safety principles.

Road Safety Cell of Kohima Police held Community Outreach Program to create awareness about driving etiquette and road safety principles. Today the team held session with commercial pick-up drivers near SKV Petrol Pump and local taxi drivers at Phoolbari and South Point BOC.

To reach out to the public and sensitize them about various traffic rules and safety issues, Road Safety Cell which was recently instituted under the aegis of Kohima Traffic Police carried out a Community Outreach Programme on 10/09/22 at Ward 17 Panchayat Hall.
