Had such a blast judging this year's #PortraitNow2023 prize at DNM/Frederiksborg Congratulations to every artist who submitted a portrait, to the winners and to everyone involved in the exhibition. Here's a nice little film they made about the selection: youtu.be/N3CyJYVZnHA

Jury service done. Had such a blast with these wonderful people judging this year's #PortraitNow prize DNM/Frederiksborg in Denmark. In 2023, portraiture is alive and kicking

For the love of god, please pay people appropriately when they are doing talks etc for Black History Month. It takes time to plan & produce the talk but most organisations seem to be offering pay like I’m just turning up and saying stuff off the top of my head 🙅🏽‍♀️

And personally I don’t think it’s unreasonable for organisations to pay above their usual rate for talks. This is not a usual talk and your usual rates are awful. Budget for more.

Just seen a job for £26k whose responsibility is to write and implement a strategy for inclusion and diversity for an entire museum and all its functions as part of an NLHF project. And we wonder why we don’t make progress in these areas of practice. 🤬🥲

150 years ago today, at precisely 8pm, the world of art changed forever. What happened? A small, independent art exhibition opened in Paris. It was a financial failure and barely 3,000 people went — but, in time, these artists would come to be known as "the Impressionists"...
