Excited to share a new paper w/ @KevinDKohl published today in PNASNews! The gut microbiome influences host diet selection behavior: pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn… We used microbiome transplants from wild donors to show that gut bacteria can influence dietary choices in mice!🐭🦠🧠

Just minutes before it was mown, the left was as biodiverse and vibrant as the right. 🐝🦋🌸☘️🌿🌾 Why are University of Exeter, Cornwall not standing by their own supposed principles? This is a university that declared an environment and climate emergency in 2019.

Thrilled to see the first official paper from Wild Microbiome Lab published in PeerJ - the Journal of Life & Environment Here we model the dynamics of gut-associated bacterial communities at the individual level in light-bellied Brent geese, and link them to diet and habitat use. peerj.com/articles/16682/

Is a healthy microbiome one that is rich in phages? Excited to share this work with ⁦Britt Koskella⁩ & ⁦Dominique Holtappels⁩ where we apply ecological theory on the role of parasites in ecosystems & test viromes as signatures of microbiome health 🦠 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Even though lab and wild mice harbour drastically distinct gut microbiotas in many ways, several patterns of early-life microbiota assembly are common across these two systems. Read more in our new paper below @AuraRaulo Sarah CL Knowles nature.com/articles/s4200…
