The children were very excited to tell us about their Eid celebrations. We made Eid sweets using playdough.

We made pizza at Pizza Express! "You had to roll it. You had to put some cheese on it. You had to cook it." "The crust bit is so yummy and crunchy." "It been in the oven." "Cook in the hot tray." "I had cheese on top and tomato sauce. I shared it with my sister."

The sunshine inspires nature-led conversations. “I see flowers, windy and wet.” “When rain drops, then sun, they grow." “I have a balcony for plants.” “I’ve got a flower indoors and a shovel for digging.” “I like daffodils. They make me so happy I run.” “Butterflies fly high.”

Children built upon ideas when discussing their paintings. "The floor is lava. There's people on boats. The lava goes up and down." "The people go on the lava. They need to go on an aeroplane. They need to go in the sky." "Volcano erupts!" "Yellow lava, water rushes on lava."

The children have been talking about their Eid celebrations: "Daddy, mummy, me and my brothers went to the Mosque. Azaan call me. And boys downstairs and girls upstairs. We go Namaz. You do it 2 times then stand up. I wear my hijab. It's black with flowers"

After reading 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar', children drew pictures with charcoals then painted with watercolours. "Butterflies fly with their wings." "I like butterflies." "Me got a net indoors, can catch flies and worms." "Butterflies were caterpillars and then it flies."

One of our families lovingly made pots of fruit for the children as an Eid gift. The children enjoyed the fruit at snack time. Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.

Thank you to families who have been coming in to talk to us about how Eid celebrations. A child said, "Eid, I get present, a Paw Patrol present. I eat cake, moon and star. Eid cake." Children had fun making cakes and sweets too from playdough.

Children helped make a delicious 'Very hungry Caterpillar' fruit punch. They helped count out and cut fruit before sitting together at Group Time to enjoy it. "Cut it in half!" "It taste like sweet, it my favourite." " 3 plums." "We got fruits." "Like juice!"
