As I get closer to finishing the biographies of my four maternal g-g grandmothers, I enjoy doing some of the things they did - making patchwork comforters, making my own clothes, etc. They needed to do these things, I'm choosing to do so.

This post is fun for me - a - to see. My mother's mother's father was a cooper - he worked at a company that made barrels. I have a barrel at home in his memory, though a more recent barrel than this one! @noonarino

Appreciating the Society for One-Place Studies 1⃣🏘️🔎 folks who encourage 'place study' along with family history; I am editing the 'place' aspect of upcoming book about my 4 maternal g-g grandmothers. Info about where they lived provides context.

Great question from the National Genealogical Society National Genealogical Society (NGS) 🌳🧬 - I am in the editing phase of the I about my four maternal great-great grandmothers. Adding geographic info about where they lived (context), identifying 'holes' in content that need attention.

Interesting observation from Christine McCloud 🌳 . Similarly, the dog license record still exists for the dog my great-great grandmother had in Co. Wicklow, Ireland over 100 years ago!

I write up a summary as exactly that - a summary. Everything else...I personally start a genealogy document at the beginning of a project with a narrative outline, then fill in info as I gather it so the final document is a narrative family tale. Rebecca Stanley

Fun post! I worked at a job in the U.S. in the 1990's where we still used such a key to open one of the doors at our building. Marsh's Library

As a , I looked at my ancestor's life spans & compared that data to their income levels. Ancestors with higher income levels and/or better jobs often lived longer (see article). Have you compared your ancestor's income levels to life spans?

Christine McCloud is correct - an important resource involves doing oral history interviews with older relatives while they are still with us.
