N doesn’t have to be as complex as people make it out to be. We know what the plant needs (right now some water). Preplant N will get a plant started but can’t finish like in-season N and #PROVEN40 will be there to run assist for each one. 150=UTC, 190=+15%, 60=-17% #Plant2024

With the rain plants are taking everything in and Pivot Bio microbes are keeping up with a daily dose of N. Corn is recovering nicely from the sins of spring with these rains. Will they come back at pollination or ear development? Time will tell. #Plant2024

Happy Independence Day! Pivot Bio microbes are still giving a daily dose of N and average 5-10% N advantage. Min till roots are going deep following worm channels which is always good to see as they prep for pollination. Crop is looking good and rain is welcome. #Plant2024

The early consistency Pivot Bio provided is showing up in the ears. My 10 consecutive ears averaged 20-40 more kernels/ear, a few grams heavier and plant pops were higher. This late April and mid-May corn were both >40% moisture so there is still more grain fill potential.

Tis the field day season though I was able to make a few field checks. Most corn was still 30%+ moisture and rains this week should help add to test wt. Reps had some good displays to help growers see how Pivot works and understand how to relay their N programs for 2025.

Corn is changing. Is yours still green or burning up? The ears reveal a lot of information on what each source is doing and how long they are lasting. Pivot Bio still contributing to more kernels/ear. I have a lot more corn to check in the coming weeks. #4R

If fall N really lasts, why are they the driest fields and not the greenest? This wet spring high loss is evident due to less length in UTC fields especially in S. IL. Now lower grain wts is also showing up. More consistent plants with Pivot Bio is showing up in grain wts. #4R

Sept has been very dry and the result has been very little fertility from soil. Plant cannibalization is all that is left to finish the crop. Pivot Bio built bigger more consistent plants which is now helping to add to ear weights. A good start will lead to a strong finish.#4R

Don’t let your eyes fool you. Yield comes a number of ways and all these Pivot Bio treated plants ended up with heavier ears. Early consistency leads to later consistency. You don’t buy all of one stock to invest in so why would you only count on 1 N source for your N program?

It’s been a busy fall collecting ear samples. 50+ fields and over 2600 ears counted for rows, length, and tip back along with stand counts. Ears weighed and tested for moisture. Now to do a deep dive on yield influencers. Huge thanks to the growers and my team for the help.

V5-V8 is great time to scout and lack of uniformity will be exposed as plants compete. Pivot Bio microbes give each plant their own N source to overcome stress factors and help plants thrive during this stage so they will be ready for the rapid growth to VT. #4R

I’m pretty optimistic for this year’s crop. Corn might be denting but there is still a ways to go. Pivot microbes helps max yield potential by adding kernels/ear but a rain could really boost kernel weights. The new G3 helps with plant N remobilization for a late punch too.
