Kids returning to school shouldn't have to worry about the threat of gun violence, but yet another community has been tragically affected by a school shooting. AAP mourns with all affected in GA and will continue to advocate for policies to keep kids safe and to #EndGunViolence

The list of gaps in Georgia’s gun laws is long. Perhaps most relevant to school shootings is child access prevention laws requiring gun owners to lock guns away from underage youth. Safe gun storage is smart way to prevent any shooting by juveniles regardless of laws.
