Day 1 as North East Mayor:
🚌 I’ve instructed the North East Combined Authority to get started with bringing buses under public control.
📝 Chaired our 1st combined authority meeting with leaders. Together we’ll bring more power to our region and show the world what our great North East can do.

One thing is clear after this week - Britain has demanded change.

To those who put their trust in Labour, I say thank you.

To the Conservatives, I say, bring on a general election.
