In Forest School, Year 4 had their first experience of a fire this term and toasted yummy marshmallows! They used bread, lard and seeds to make bird feeders and cardboard tubes to create 'hotel rooms', ensuring they were well camouflaged and a suitable habitat for the bugs.

Year 3 have been studying ancient Egyptian canopic jars in their art and history work this term. After learning about their purpose, the children drew and planned their designs then used mod roc to create their 3D sculptures. The children have achieved some fantastic results!

Y5 are learning about the process of mummification. Well done Maisie and Azrak for your great explanation texts. Y6 used 'The Nothing To See Here Hotel' to inspire their writing about typical grandmas and grandads - who turn out to have a dark secret. 📷📷📷📷📷

As we continue to learn and adapt to being more sustainable, this was a wonderful opportunity to think about what we can all do to support our environment.

It was lovely to be back at the Boston Market Garden yesterday with our new groups who are excited to see how the garden develops and changes throughout the seasons. We were also joined by our 2nd group of Year 1 children, getting involved as part of their work in the community.

Y2 linked learning about the Great Fire of London to Forest School. They learnt what fire needs to burn & discussed how to keep safe. They took turns using flint and steel and built a campfire, then the children toasted & ate marshmallows before using the cooled charcoal.

YEAR 5 ART Year 5 have enjoyed being abstract artists this afternoon, creating work in the style of Wassily Kandinsky. They had to use black lines, white pastels and coloured paint. We think they look amazing!
