Shocking... Not only is the August Dead Week gone...now the season will likely start a week earlier. All to expand the playoffs... Tell me again how this will improve HS Football in Illinois?

For multi-sport athletes: ⚾️ Regional championships are May 29. Sectionals into first week of June. 🏀 Summer league basketball eats up most of June. 🏈 Practices will now possibly start August 5. 🏈 Week 1 games are August 21. Where did summer go for our high school athletes?

Yes, it probably is… That’s why it’s special when a group of kids work together toward a common goal: WINNING as a team!

As an AD, I implemented a strength program where every athlete lifts in season with their current team. I challenged coaches to scientifically prove it was not beneficial. No one could. It eliminated the tug of war over athletes and reinforced what we believe.

We had it all!!
