A graph was circulated on Tuesday from a journalist & news organisation who should know better. Title: “It’s not just ‘normal’” The implication (the wording is more careful) is the UK is experiencing an unprecedented population increase. Nonsense. A 🧵/1.

Interesting that both Alisson and Rodri (as well as Koundé) raised legitimate concerns regarding the ridiculous number of games they are expected to play. Now 2 of the 3 have proved the point by succumbing to injuries. The game generates enough revenue, protect the players.

Hey Boris Johnson I hear you have a spare hour in your diary today thanks to Laura Kuenssberg mis-send of research notes. Rarely Rory Stewart and I are both in London today and would love to have you as a guest on The Rest Is Politics LEADING.

From The Times of London: "WHITE CITY is the best crime novel I’ve read this year." "Nolan’s follow-up to Vine Street is both a celebration and excoriation of gangster chic...[a] Dexedrine-fuelled descent into hell—full of heartbreak and wry comedy." thetimes.com/culture/books/…

Rupert Murdoch has now spent around £2bn in keeping the truth about the way his news organisations operate out of the courts in the UK and US. Please don’t shrug and say it’s normal. It’s not. prospectmagazine.co.uk/ideas/media/69…

A misleading headline. This figure refers to LIFETIME membership of the National Trust, for a whole family, and it should say so. Ordinary family membership still costs around the same as one takeaway coffee a week.

National Trust family membership costs £14.05 a month. A daily telegraph subscription costs £104 a month. And don’t even get me started on what you get for your money in each case…
