To celebrate Theatre by the Lake's 25th anniversary, we have a new display about their 2013 production of Rogue Herries! Come and see the original manuscript of Hugh Walpole's 1930 novel. Edward, who volunteers at both the museum and the theatre, had a small role in the play! 🎭

Earlier this week #CarlisleArchives welcomed volunteers from Keswick Museum working on the Our Community Voices project funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund . They were learnt how to research property history ahead of doing their own research which will later be shared with their visitors

It was such a pleasure to share more of our Southey collection with visitors today and talk to them about his life and work. One visitor even said he deserves to be better known - and we agree! We are proud to tell Southey's story all year round 📜✍️

We were so glad to welcome Wordsworth Conferences attendees to the museum yesterday evening to see our Robert Southey collection, listen to a talk on Southey's Lake District and enjoy some drinks - a relaxing end to their two week conference! 🥂
