I really don't think it's fully sunk in for a lot of people that QAnon is literally just Nazism. I'm not using "Nazism" as a hyperbolic synonym for "bad" here. I mean QAnon people actually believe most of the same core ideas the Nazis believed.

M.H.Boroson's The Girl with Ghost Eyes does not portray Chinese people in a positive light. The characters come off as prejudicial, misogynistic, judgemental, and conforming to Chinese stereotypes. Read Lisa Lee and Grace Lin instead. #msjacksonreads

“In expert hands...[words] take you prisoner. Wind themselves around your limbs like spider silk, & when you are so enthralled you cannot move, they pierce your skin, enter your blood, numb your thoughts. Inside you they work their magic.” - Diane Setterfield, The Thirteenth Tale

Grady Hendrix's The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires is only tangentially about vampires, or...the one literal vampire. The true 'vampires' are those who expect to succeed no matter who is hurt in the process. #relatable #msjacksonreads #bookclub

Wilson Rawls's Where the Red Fern Grows glows with the magic of a childhood under the sun & stars, beneath towering boughs, traipsing through the brush, splashing through the streams, & rambling over hills with two loyal, loving pups, a young man's best friends. #msjacksonreads

The Haunting of Alejandra by V. Castro Women in Alejandra's family suffer a generational curse, involving a flesh-eating demon who claims ownership of their bloodline. Interesting premise. Execution just okay. #msjacksonreads

Can a fantasy novel feel cozy? Ancient castles, cottages in the woods, cloaks and cold, creeping mist... Yes, this captivating and fantastic tale had me wrapped in blankets and sipping tea deep into the night #msjacksonreads @GilligRachel #onedarkdoor

I had so much fun listening to this book. It's laugh out loud funny if you understand older American idioms & clichés, particularly if you're an English teacher like me! #msjacksonreads

A Highland Christmas by M.C. Beaton is just cute. A little whodunnit, a little Christmas cheer, and a little light-hearted courtship, all in a sleepy Highland community. Short and very sweet. #msjacksonreads #holidayreads

Christmas at the Edge of the World by Kate Hewitt is my favorite Christmas read so far this season! I absolutely loved my trip to Orkney with Laurel, Archie, & Zach. This story felt magical AND real, a hopeful tale for a season filled with love. #msjacksonreads #holidayreads

A Dog Named Christmas by Greg Kincaid is another sweet Christmas story! An older couple and their son with challenges inspires their community to "adopt a dog for Christmas" from the local shelter. Another hopeful Christmas tale full of joy. #msjacksonreads #holidayreads

I actually really enjoyed listening to this! In The Dispatcher, Scalzi introduces a world in which, when people are murdered, they revive and live, meaning nobody can be murdered. Really cool concept with a bunch of moral and ethical questions involved. #msjacksonreads

The lives recounted in Bragg's The Most They Ever Had reveal people with inner strength, loyalty, and dogged determination to survive. A beautiful vessel carries these stories. #msjacksonreads

Kelly Barnhill's When Women Were Dragons speaks to the girl inside me who rails against expected roles for women, but as I read, I realized it really speaks to the rebel in all of us--our inner self who wants to fly free beyond the "socially acceptable." #msjacksonreads
