The 6th graders are Washington D.C bound. This is the 76th annual Spalding County Sherriff's Junior Deputy Program trip to D.C. There was a parade to escort the buses (131 students) from Spalding high to I-75. WKEU radio is on each bus interviewing students. Thank you sponsors!

The GSCS 6th graders are having a great time in Washington D.C. The weather has cooperated and they have enjoyed the White House, the National Zoo, Ford's Theater, Jefferson, MLK and FDR Memorials, lunch at Hard Rock Cafe, and are en route to Fort McHenry - Star Bangled Banner

Ten GSCS students participated in a Young Author’s Literacy Celebration during the Griffin May Fling event, Saturday. The students, who have authored and published books, read excerpts from their books and sold signed copies during the festival. Congratulations student authors.
