At a recent convention President Trump stated that making America great again was better (more important) than his own life. When was the last time you heard a President speak sacrificially like that.

Start at Isaiah chapter 52:13 and start reading through 53-55 and you will read all about the Lord. The one who saved you.

I went home in the green, and suddenly it seems--less than a week later--colour is starting to show on the trees. What happened to my beautiful summer.

Pretty soon the trumpets will sound. Pretty soon the wrath of God comes down. I don't think it's wise to be around. They will look for us... But we'll be--nowhere to be found.

James said: Faith without works is dead. Without faith it is impossible to please God. But that doesn't mean that you're spiritually dead; but you are not pleasing to God. If you know the Lord & you lack faith, ask God for it. It pleases Him to give it; and along with it--wisdom.

WHO ARE WE CALLING? When trials come, when troubles are all around us, when we don't know what to do, we begin calling for help. We call on doctors, therapists, loved ones, psychiatrists, counselors, pastors and deacons. Sometimes we'll call on anyone who will listen. But

Notice that James doesn't say: Grace without works is dead. I was trying to demonstrate the intent of that scripture that faith without works is dead. The Christian doesn't die because they lack faith. Nevertheless, evidence is important. James could've said: "ineffective".

These verses aren’t a contrast between faith and works. They’re a contrast between true faith and false faith. Anyone can say they believe in God, even demons (James 2:19)! True faith is proved real because it results in good works. False faith is proved dead because it doesn’t.

I think this has been the issue all along. Some Christian who don't believe entirely in the grace of God through Christ alone, have used James to justify a need to work for our salvation. I think are dealing with two different categories: 1) salvation itself. 2) unfaithfulness.

I wish my wife and I had a new baby. I like little babies. I thank God for all of you who have recently been given one. In less than four months our oldest daughter will be turning 13 and I realize that's the stage we're in now. We'll give what we have to that, and be grateful.

Isaiah 57 says: The righteous person parishes, and no one takes it to heart. The Devout people are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous person is taken away from evil, he enters into peace; and they rest in their beds. Each one who walked in his upright way.
