George Kirov Factually incorrect. Not quite just me but thousands of patients and relatives. For example, the majority (not all) of the 1100 electroshock therapy recipients responding to our survey report that ECT: DOES NOT IMPROVE DEPRESSION MAKES QUALITY OF LIFE WORSE CAUSES MEMORY LOSS

Jorge Hernández PSSD Research is mainly driven by curiosity, not money. Real science, that is. Manufacturer "research" should not be confused with actual science. The perversion of company trials, ghost writing, fake data, and prescriber COI are not even on the list of potentially reliable evidence.

This misinformation was everywhere. How else would they sell SSRIs to the general public when the common sense understanding of depression was that it arose as a reaction to life events/circumstances

JD I don't know. The evil that is so evident in this world is beyond my comprehension. It is the complete lack of feeling for other human beings or their suffering. What makes a human being turn into that?

When a patient is labelled ‘treatment resistant,’ maybe we should admit the treatment, and the psychiatrist, are just poor metabolisers of truth, ‘resistant’ to owning the fact that their drug heavy approach hasn’t worked and has often made things far worse.

Fiona French, freedom is bliss Do they do this deliberately? This obtuse circilar nonsense, purposefully misunderstanding? Or are they actually dumb enough to misunderstand everything without even meaning to? Either way it doesn't reflect well on psychiatry.

Renata Rykowska I am really sorry to hear your story Renata. It is, sadly, very common. Many of us, patients and professionals and academics, have joined together, determined that your voices will, finally, be heard.

Alex Berenson Dr Jordan B Peterson Of course the withdrawal horrors of SSRIs are very similar to the withdrawal horrors of benzos. However, as was the case with benzos, they are prescribed like candy. No thought is given to the countless casualties. The drug companies benefit from prescribing practices.

Alex Berenson Dr Jordan B Peterson Those who encourage consumption of SSRIs without clearly warning about ALL the risks are responsible for unnecessary death and disability in exactly the same way as those who encouraged consumption of benzos without due warnings

Dr James Davies (PhD) 💭 When psychiatry made the final drug switch in my case, I was advised "they seem to help some people". I was aghast that I had been consuming these types of drugs based on false information. There was no benefit.

recovery&renewal Oh! The 'expert' reaction. Dear God, the hubris on display from these quacks is off the scale. They don't want to do the work re adverse effects of ECT but discredit those who do. Even the infamous Samei Huda admitted cognitive impairment had not been adequately investigated.

Harriet Vogt Dr John Read Science Media Centre UK No, it's not ETHICAL to ignore the patient voice. It's EGOTISTICAL. These so called 'experts' can't be bothered to investigate extent of known harms of ECT, and they do their best to discredit those who do make the effort. Lazy and unaccountable.
