I know this is a hard chew but… students don’t owe us. They don’t owe us good moods, they don’t owe us job fulfillment, they don’t even owe us good data (sorry but they don’t 😬). You know why…Because students are not responsible for adult emotions/outcomes.

Families do not assess their level of engagement with their child’s learning based on whether or not they attend events. However, as educators, we tend to assess their engagement based on whether or not they do. Let’s change that! #familyengagement

Schools, if you think asking your families to do this, do that, & this too as far as spirit days/holiday activities you’re missing the mark on how you could be effectively engaging your families. Everyone has limited time & energy. Let’s choose to use it wisely. #familyengagement
