Researcher. Data geek. Truth teller. I care deeply about kids/education, and I exposed a lot of Covid nonsense from public health, scientists, and the media.

AAP continues to find ways to assure parents it should not be trusted to be smart or nuanced on important issues when it can settle for signaling.

Reminder that one of my "favorite" COVID studies was a UofM modeling study which assumed masking was highly effective as part of the model, which was reported by media as discovering that masking was highly effective.

This study is nuts. They say that, in 2020, 46% of the people who were hospitalized with Covid and acute kidney injury were vaccinated for Covid. That's an... um... interestingly large percentage

Just to make this explicit: Covid vaccines were only barely available in the final 20 days of 2020. For the vast majority of 2020, no one was vaccinated for Covid. Certainly not 46% of the people in their study.

English-language interview with Anders Tegnell in a Swiss magazine. "Personal responsibility was crucial in handling the pandemic, says Anders Tegnell. Sweden’s approach not only proved effective, but also strengthened public trust."

This is a good moment to remind everyone that the American Academy of Pediatrics (American Academy of Pediatrics) is not a group that represents medicine or science or the best interests of children It is simply a loudspeaker for political ideology

Helen Branswell 🇨🇦 STAT The CDC also pushed boosters for healthy young people, used inaccurate data to mislead VRBPAC and ACIP members and the public about Covid mortality in children to justify vaccinating young kids, and gave conflicting reasons for adding the Covid shot to the childhood schedule...

Helen Branswell 🇨🇦 STAT Grace Lee, one of the authors of the STAT op-ed, parroted ACTUAL "MISINFORMATION" about childhood Covid mortality *during an ACIP meeting* when she was chair and I couldn't get any "experts" or mainstream journalists to pay attention!

The experts now have warnings for us about distrust in vaccinations. "The damage, once done, may not be easily repaired." Oh yea? SOME OF US WERE SAYING THAT BACK IN 2021 and 2022 - but the "experts" wouldn't listen. Their ill-advised and maximalist approach to Covid vaccines

There's a basic school of thought among the loudest voices on left-leaning social media that if a journalist discovers information that might be inconvenient to Democrats, the reporter should elect to keep it quiet, because the overriding purpose of his job is to help Dems win.

It's 2025 and Covid is at very low levels, but Dr. William Schaffner of Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville thinks this is a good time for staying home instead of going to the movies. Some "experts" are still committed to torching their credibility. 🤦🏼‍♀️
