Here's a quick check at air quality this evening. Still "unhealthy" in most Treasure Valley and Boise Mountain areas. Garden Valley has been in the "very unhealthy" or "hazardous" since 10 am. Most southern areas will see some improvement by Saturday evening/Sunday morning.

A wind shift has caused the fire to start moving back towards the west. The fire is threatening multiple residences. A CodeRed alert has been sent to residents in the neighborhoods along Columbia Rd from Amber Ridge Ave to E Plexi Ct. to notify them of the fire.

At this time, no evacuations are in place. Boise Fire resources include 1 BC, 5 engines, and 2 Brush rigs. Eagle Fire and BLM are on scene with resources as well. There are no reported injuries. Crews are working to protect structures and contain the fire.

Highway 21 is closed between S. Technology Way and E. Warm Springs while crews work to contain the fire.

This isn’t far from my brother-in-law’s house. This is getting pretty scary.
