CD14 has more renters, more evictions, + more homelessness than any other district. As a tenants rights attorney, I’ve seen the eviction to homelessness pipeline happen before my eyes.

We by fighting for stronger rent control, tenant protections and social housing!

Thank you Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez for introducing a motion to address rent debt owed in the city and to improve existing relief programs. Rent debt causes evictions, displacement, and stress to tenants and families! It’s past time for LA city leadership to provide rent debt relief!

Thank you Councilmember Nithya Raman for standing with tenants! We will continue to work together until we have stronger rent control, a stronger Tenant Anti-Harrassment Ordinance (TAHO), rent debt is forgiven, and we have social housing! ✊🏾🏠

Nothing against a nice oud recital, but friends, it’s almost noon and public comment hasn’t started yet.

They do this every Friday. Last week it was a ceremony for a recycling bin.

We shouldn’t need to take a whole day off work to comment on things that affect us directly.
