Labor Day isn't all about barbeques and the end of summer. It's also a time to recognize the labor put in throughout the year. So thank those of you who participated in Keep It Up for all of the labor you've put in to keeping the community around you safe! Keep up the good work.

Today In Gay History, 2012: In more recent history, California became the first state to ban gay conversion therapy on minors only ten years ago. Conversion therapy is a process used to "cure" queer people of their sexuality through various tortures.

Heather Purser, a Suquamish activist from Washington, advocated in her tribe for the acceptance of same-sex marriage and won several years before the state or country did. She's just one example of the incredible strength of indigenous queer people in the world.

Did you know? KIU not only works directly with our participants, we also work with several LGBTQ+ Community Centers across the US! Today is LGBTQ+ Center Awareness day. Recognize your local center for all they've done for your community!

Equalize. That's the slogan this World AIDS Day, and the message is simple: anyone can be impacted by AIDS, but not everyone receives equitable treatment. It's time to reform the system so that marginalized populations are no longer excluded and stigmatized in AIDS treatment.
