“It’s like the old days. I’m an old soul.” Story on Bowden Francis and something he said under a palm tree in March. #BlueJays 🌴 mlb.com/bluejays/news/…

The #BlueJays have called up No. 6 prospect Jonatan Clase, who they acquired from the Mariners in the Yimi García deal. Good time to take a look at Clase, a gifted athlete with real upside, ahead of 2025.

#BlueJays No. 6 prospect Jonatan Clase will play CF primarily. The org wants him focusing on controlling the zone and putting the ball in play, which allows his physical gifts to shine. Schneider: "He can wreak havoc on the bases and has a unique skillset of power and speed."

News: Dillon Tate is running in from the bullpen for the #BlueJays Kevin Gausman had a no-hitter through five innings on just 58 pitches.

The #BlueJays' bullpen now has four innings to cover and they're carrying Kevin Gausman's no-hit bid with them. Dillon Tate's debut starts it off here in Texas... Updates to come on why Gausman left the game.

And here we go again... The #BlueJays have a no-hitter through six innings in Texas after a clean inning from Dillon Tate, who took over from Kevin Gausman.

Kevin Gausman left the game with lower back tightness, the #BlueJays tell us. Of all the things it could have been, you can call that very good news.

#BlueJays win, 4-0. Kevin Gausman looked great before he left with back tightness and Vladdy put on a show. They’re off to Tampa at 73-80.

John Schneider says that Kevin Gausman is fine, just some regular back tightness he’s been working through. Schneider, Pete Walker and Chris Bassitt made sure Gausman knew he had a no-hitter going, but Gausman was OK with cutting the day short. #BlueJays

Found this interesting from Gausman: He says that he actually would have left this start even earlier when he was younger, but now he knows what’s serious and what he can pitch through. He just wanted to avoid throwing with “all arm”, which is where it gets dangerous. #BlueJays

John Schneider sounded really happy with his first look at Dillon Tate today in Texas. If anyone from the Waiver Wire Frenzy of 2024 has a shot to stick on the roster through the winter and get a shot at a bullpen job, Tate's at least putting himself in a good spot. #BlueJays

The #BlueJays think Will Wagner will come back stronger (and with more power) in 2025. Second base is crowded, but Wagner’s given himself an inside track on at least a piece of the job. Story: mlb.com/bluejays/news/…

I’m headed back to Canada for a wedding this weekend, so our Brian Murphy will have you covered for the #BlueJays’ series against the Rays. The sun goes down on the season next week at home when they return from God’s Stadium.
