Constitution contemplates one extension. A second was sought. The PM received legal advice that saw such request not granted.

To circumvent constitutional provisions by a rushed amendment, despite objections, can only be described as arrogant. No other word seems appropriate.

y is PM's refusal of the2nd extension presentd as disagreement w Chuck? History proves he was told by PublicServicesComm he cdnt grant it? This abuse of constitutional convention was the workaround of PSC advice. The billion dollar question is WHY go2extremes4THIS public servant?

According to the report, Ms Llewelyn applied for an extension. The PSC sought the advice of the PM. He didn't sanction the extension. Here comes Delroy Chuck. What's happening in the cabinet?

If the JLP lost the appeal, which I know they will, the Jamaican people must demand they called and election immediately and also repay the legal fees from pocket. Taxpayers can not go down this road 3 times. Not fair

An important revelation from Edmond's story today: House Speaker Juliet Holness informed Ldr of Gvt Business Bartlett in March 6 letter that she was seeking “independent legal advice” on the tabling of reports on public bodies from the auditor general. jamaica-gleaner.com/article/lead-s…

Whoever and whatever may be the subjects of these 5 reports, I hope the Speaker will cause those reports to be laid on the table of the House no later than next Tuesday. I urge my fellow citizens to become involved in fighting corruption and protecting our country

Thia Davi Canute Thompson Do you recall how Nigel dealt with the teachers go back & read. He was adamant that they take what was offered & said the country couldn't afford more, he treated them with disdain & arrogance then later gave himself & his colleagues over 200% increase in salaries, smdh!

I would invite teachers to respond to this. I urge the JTA's leadership to put in the fight to retain our teachers. In my view the Gov has not treated education with the seriousness it requires. Teachers were deceived in the public sector compensation review.

Jamaica Gleaner If 3 persons have to combine NHT funds + bank loan to buy 1 house it tells you what?

When a govt divests the loan portfolio of a public housing trust to private corps, it tells you what?

Where a govt ‘deregulates’ the banks to run amok with fees & charges, it tells you what?

So the spin being put on the opinion of the AG to the Speaker re the tabling of the Reports is that it was an opinion to the Government. Then why does the Speaker have it? Dem tek people fi kunnu munu. Deh man deh sick mi stomach…the misinformation that is regularly spewed…

Somebody's reputation, career and livelihood is deemed 'immaterial' by the imbecile posing as information minister.
Arrogance on steroids.

Canute Thompson We are a country with a constitution & governed by the rule of law. It is either she can lawfully do what she did or she is not empowered to so. This should not be arguable. Is the speaker above the law? If this is allowed to slide ‘dawg nyam wi suppa’

For such an unprecedented amendment to the Budget, the absence of Finance Minister Nigel Clarke to pilot the Bill and give the people a proper explanation as to what happened is cause for concern. The need for this Bill and MoF absence is RED CARD behaviour.

Andrew Holness At nearly 300%, it is the largest increase given to politicians. And against background of an unfit health system, untrained education, unbecoming public transport, uninhabitable housing & unsafe society. This makes you & your govt, uncaring. Next election you’ll be unelected.
