It’s good to meet our 🇱🇹Lithuanian neighbours, allies, friends for the annual bilateral 🇱🇻🇱🇹 consultations. The sad part is that we need such fences with our common neighbour Belarus now.

30 years ago, the withdrawal of Russian military from Latvia was completed. Their presence during occupation had been very extensive. After 26 months of talks, an obstacle in Latvia's return to free world was gone. This opened way for 🇱🇻's preparations for joining EU & NATO.

Pirms 30 gadiem tika pabeigta Krievijas armijas izvešana no Latvijas. Tās klātbūtne okupācijas laikā bija ļoti apjomīga – Latvija bija kā karabāze. Pēc 26 mēnešu sarunām tika noņemts šķērslis Latvijai atgriezties brīvā pasaulē. Tas pavēra iespējas gatavoties dalībai ES un NATO.
