Well, if ever my module was going to make the cover story of a national newspaper, I’m glad it’s because I take the wellbeing of my students seriously. Well done, The Times, for a completely nuanced, not at all misrepresentative article 🙄👍

Incidentally, my experiences so far have only reaffirmed to me the need to think about how we teach and prepare students for potentially retraumatising material. This is vitally important and I am definitely keen to hear other people’s approaches!

Desk at the Bundesarchiv secured (phew), looks like I'm finally coming back to Berlin in November!

Do any of my Twitter friends know if there's somewhere semi-secure to leave a medium-sized suitcase at the Bundesarchiv Berlin-Lichterfelde?

Does anybody have a link to the German inscription on the memorial obelisk at Bergen-Belsen (1952)? I only seem to be able to find the English translation but would like to feature it in the target language too!
