Ok, who else can’t hear BBC Radio 3 talking about Alma Mahler without thinking of / singing Tom Lehrer..?
I have huge fondness for all the BBC Radio 3 presenters who see me through the day, but at the start of this jolly season, I really do miss the ‘edge’ of Ian Skelly on my drive to work.
Salzburg, Sound of Music, The Kanneh-Masons , Christmas Eve, thinking of another musical dynasty I’m friends with 😭😍
Good to hear Alexis Paterson on R4 just now.
Question for my birding friends: Swimming in a Cotswold lake (no camera) I passed a swimming bird/ duck? with black and white feathers (mostly black, white lower down) and a BLUE beak. Couldn’t see its legs as it was swimming too. What might it be? Lev Parikian Vague Bird News
When the too soon & too sad death of a friend you’d kept meaning to meet up with but never quite managing, at least prompts you to meet up with another friend from the same time/ same group… So good to reconnect Adam Chamberlain, and fill in some of those 30 something years!
