I love this thread from top-notch writer of picture books Fiona Barker It's so true! If you want to see your work published then the biggest thing to tell yourself is to just keep going. Also - please look at Fi's book, absolute gorgeousness and more on the way!!
I have just finished listening to this fabulous book on audio - highly recommend for a summer road trip! Jo Leevers The Last Time I Saw You. A family story of secrets, grief and new beginnings π©·π©·
Spotted at Harrogate Festivals The new cover for Cara Miller / C. L. Miller 's brand new book- second in one of my favourite crime series. Looking fantastic in blue! Pan Macmillan
Absolutely agree with every single point in this blog. Well worth reading if you were either at Harrogate this year, or perhaps you weren't and tried avoiding all the SM posts. Also, do look at Charlotte Duckworth / Rixon | Author 's other blog posts. So much honesty and sense!
Libraries really matter - to readers and to writers & as a hub of the community. Somewhere for people to go, young parents, the elderly, lonely folk, anyone who uses libraries not just as a great place to discover and borrow books but also as a social necessity. Boldwood Books
I wrote 'another banger'. Apparently. Thank you so much, Imogen Russell Williams - your Guardian Books roundup review has really made my day.
Happy happy book birthday! π₯³π₯³ If MG Greek and Roman mythical adventures are your thing then do check Marie Basting - Auntie Medusa and Me out 1st Aug 's books out.
Brilliant to see 'A Proper Mother' by Isobel Shirlaw featured in this month's Caversham Bridge paper. It's a wonderfully rich and clever story that made me wonder what I actually knew right until the last paragraph. I don't often use the cliche but this one really is #gripping
