Even after the IRI’s engineered/low turnout elections, the #IranLobby and media outlets pushed the narrative that Pezeshkian would be more than a rubber stamp for Khamenei. It seems as though Pezeshkian himself believes otherwise. Here he makes that clear in his own words 👇

"And while Mr Khamenei damns Western perfidy, Mr Pezeshkian is the first president who has been permitted to take calls from Western leaders in three years." This is incorrect. Raisi also spoke by phone with Western officials. 1/2 economist.com/middle-east-an…

Calling out Islamists is not Islamophobic. The main victims of Islamists are secular Muslims. Overcoming this illiteracy on the threat from Islamism will be a challenge for the Labour Party, which, evidently, still feels very uncomfortable talking about radical Islam. The Jewish Chronicle

In the senior ranks, Nasrallah has lost Mohammad Reza Zahedi, an #IRGCterrorists member of #Hezbollah's Shura Council and Jihad Council, as well as Fuad Shukr who was a member of the Jihad Council as well. With their demise comes a loss of institutional memory, relationships, and

This Economist's latest article on Iranian Pezeshkian deserved closer editing. 1. Pezeshkian is not "the first president who has been permitted to take calls from Western leaders in three years." Macron reportedly spoke with Raisi in October 2023. 2. The article describes

It’s crystal clear long-lasting peace & stability in the Middle East cannot be achieved until Khamenei’s regime in Iran collapses. In 2022-23,the Biden admin could have supported the Iranian people during anti-regime protests. Instead, it chose to negotiate with the ayatollah 👇

Jason Brodsky (@jasonmbrodsky) 's Twitter Profile Photo

After 40+ years it's time to dispense with this argument. The hardliners are empowered to the degree they are because the supreme leader of #Iran's regime wants it that way. The Islamic Republic has agency.

Kasra Aarabi (کسری اعرابی) (@kasraaarabi) 's Twitter Profile Photo

They’re back at it again with the manufactured “hardliner-reformist” narrative. No one in Iran buys this, but some in the West just can’t help themselves—esp those who like to blame Israel for quite literally everything. This will bring a smile to Khamenei’s face👇

The performative gesture of appointing Hosseinzadeh will not restore #Pezeshkian’s supposed reformist credibility. His cabinet appointments demonstrate his unwillingness (and inability) to challenge the grip Khamanei and the #IRGC hold over the regime.

Lots of talk on Pezeshkian signalling appetite for new negotiations. But Khamenei may also be using this as a final attempt to get more assets unfrozen prior to a new US admin. If this is the case, expect threats/escalation in the next few months to force diplomatic concessions.

Jason Brodsky (@jasonmbrodsky) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I don't really think the door was ever shut. Khamenei is consistent, and left open the prospect for negotiations under Raisi as well. #Iran's regime benefits from this dynamic by using the prospect of talks as a lure to neutralize pressure.

Hezbollah's recent drone attack on Israel was enabled by Germany's 3W-International technology. This isn't the first time 3W's engines have powered terrorist drones. UANI wrote to 3W in 2020 about this. Companies must be held accountable. i24news.tv/en/news/israel…
