A new song will be born on May 1st!

The new song, coming out on May 1st, had two working titles, so I created these different visual designs for each.

Hey Layla

“Dorian’s Dream” 🎶
~ a looper based instrumental written in the Dorian mode.

Last month I asked my sister, Annie, to sing some background vocals for a new song I wrote, called “Hey Layla”, which was inspired by the recent birth of her sweet little granddaughter.

So much fun. The song comes out one week from today. 🙂🎶

My favourite thing about learning a new tune is adding ornamentation.

Listen to skilled fiddlers to study their ornamentation styles & incorporate them into your own playing. Ornamentation should enhance the melody without overshadowing it.

If NPR wants to keep being an unbalanced mouthpiece for the Democrat party’s propaganda, I’m fine with that, but as such they should be funded by the DNC, not by federal tax dollars.

I used to enjoy their Classical Music programming, but I can listen to Bach on Spotify.🙂🎶

I’m 54 today, which marks a year since the release of Prodigal Son, my debut on the music streaming platforms. I suppose creating this bluesy rock album was sort of a middle aged bucket list sort of thing. Glad I did it, but I’m looking forward to an acoustic project next.

I got my new audio interface in the mail today (which sounds way better) AND my acoustic guitar back from my guitar tech, who lowered the action on it, so I think I’m all set to start recording my acoustic instrumental album. Talk about a happy early birthday for me! 🙂🎶

It’s my firstborn son’s birthday today, and mine is tomorrow. Best birthday gift I’ve ever received in my life.

Grey Cat Blues

Had a fascinating and entertaining dream last night in which Jordan Peterson was rehearsing as the high tenor doo-wop singer of a famous band like The Bee Gees or The Beach Boys, who were preparing a comeback tour. 😄

I suspect it’s related to my upcoming May 1st song release.
