The interim Superintendent has suspended the principal and another staff member responsible for the profoundly racist and wildly inappropriate segregated assembly. The chaotic web of harms being inflicted on students and families in Florida continues.

For far too many transgender and gender nonconforming youth, school serves as their only safe haven.  We have to protect that. We have to ensure our schools are sanctuaries for every single student.

Except this timeline is wrong, also. Segregation and discrimination were legal until 1968. The Supreme Court ruled in Brown in 1954 but segregation was still allowed across American life and enforcement of Brown didn’t come for a full decade.

I’m reading Rachel Maddow ‘s new book and a key takeaway for me is: our failure to teach about fascist movements throughout American history keeps leaving us vulnerable to their resurgence.

.Sarah Kate Ellis was forthright and moving at the same time on a very Big Stage. Great job! Thank you. Loved seeing the very distinguished Wilson Cruz standing behind her, too. You made us proud.

Judge Lewis Kaplan: “The fact that Mr. Trump sexually abused — indeed, raped — Ms. Carroll has been conclusively established” This quote should be on billboards and TV ads in every battleground state.

Lolz. Rachel Maddow did her undergrad in public policy at Stanford University, was a Rhodes scholar, then completed a doctorate in political science from Oxford, while Sean Hannity barely graduated High School.

Proving again the influence of far-right billionaires over justices, the influence of fossil fuel interests over the Court, and the complete failure of anything remotely resembling truthful fact-finding about certain justices’ persistent ethics problems. theguardian.com/law/2024/jan/1…

Remember Chip Roy? The pro-Trump, clown congressman from Texas? Well, meet Dr. Dr. Kristin Hook for Congress of San Antonio, TX. She's a scientist, union leader, and former public school teacher. And she's running for Congress against Chip Roy. I'm donating. Join me: secure.actblue.com/donate/flipchip

“Special counsel Hur ‘openly, obviously, and blatantly’ violated the Justice Department’s own policies, White House Counsel Siskel [and the President personal counsel, Bob Bauer] wrote Garland in a previously undisclosed letter.” Siskel and Bauer were right.
