Beautiful symptoms of Curvularia leaf spot on corn leaves. Curvularia symptoms look very similar to those caused by the eyespot fungus. Mississippi's sultry summer weather is likely too hot for the eyespot fungus, but it's always a good idea to confirm with microscopy! 🤓

NEMATODE MONDAY: Root-knot nematode symptoms (galls/knots) on roots of tomato plants. The amount of galling can vary with population density, Meloidogyne species involved, and the host. Large numbers of nematodes penetrating roots in close proximity can result in larger galls.

Yeah … Our paper got accepted! We conducted years of research, spent countless hours to analyze, interpret, & write the manuscript. Editors & reviewers voluntarily spent their time ensuring its quality. Now, we need to pay $4,430 so that you can read it. Isn't that ridiculous?

Different cucurbit roots infected with root-knot nematodes causing severe galling and root growth stunting.

Notice the root in the left hand jar is from a variety of squash used as disease tolerant rootstocks for watermelon production. 🧐
