3 years ago we introduced Stadt Heidelberg flex to Oxford Craniofacial Unit #craniofacial MDT clinic. Here is a short paper on how we use it and our success rate. Thank you @OphthoReg at Great Ormond Street Hospital Eye Department and @UoL_NPB for the collaboration opportunity. nature.com/articles/s4143…

Very proud to see Emer Chang presenting our network meta-analysis of #ROP treatments at #Floretina and for the results to be quoted by leading ROP experts kambiz Fallah Moshfeghi, Mary Hartnett and Domenico Lepore!

With an expanding range of advanced therapeutic options, could inherited retinal degenerations be treated by a gene-independent approach? Great work by Molly John and team Jasmina Kapetanovic frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

Congratulations to Joel Quinn for delivering a fantastic presentation on the first single cell transcriptomic analysis of retinal inflammation at #ARVO2023 and many thanks to moderators, Lynn Hassman, MD PhD and Dr Kathryn Pepple University of Washington for highly stimulating discussions.

Had a fantastic morning presenting this update on our network meta-analysis of ROP treatments. Lots of stimulating discussion. Thanks to everyone that showed interest and gave feedback. What a great way to end #ARVO2023 University of Oxford Kanmin Xue Ravi

Some fantastic questions from our delegates at home and in person. There are so many, we wont get to them all. If yours isn't asked, please email [email protected] and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. #RetinaUKConf

A great day discussing advances in gene therapy, cell therapy and implantables for treating inherited retinal diseases with esteemed experts and patients at #RetinaUKConf. Grateful to Retina UK for promoting retinal research in the UK! Tara Moore Prof. Paulo Eduardo Stanga

Wonderful to be back OOC, the most genteel of ophthalmology conferences where scientific matters were discussed over a refreshing drink and glorious views from the pavilion of Sultan Nazrin Shah Centre Worcester College, Oxford. MacLaren Research Group Oxford Ariel Ong Grace Borchert #OOC2023

Celia Sourd and Monica Hu, Xue Lab Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences at #ARVO2024. With age, the ability of microglia to clean up lipid-rich metabolic debris declines, leading to accumulation of drusen, and retinal toxicity in #AMD. Grateful to collaborators, Sally Cowley and Emeline Nandrot.

Xue Lab at the #OOC2024: Many congratulations to Emer Chang for winning the Early Career Research Award for her work to predict #retinopathyofprematurity (ROP) based on the rate of retinal vascularisation from #ultrawidefield imaging which has significant clinical implications.

AI in healthcare: day 2 of my series and today we meet Dora - a telephone assistant providing a quick and easy service for cataract patients. More on BBC Oxfordshire and South Today BBC1 at 1830 bbc.com/news/articles/…

We conducted an National Institute for Health and Care Research trial of the AI agent, Dora Ufonia, for calling up patients after their cataract surgery in University of Oxford and Imperial NHS 💙. Dora showed great safety and patient satisfaction. It is now deployed as default pathway across @NHS (with >25k calls!)

Excited to share our latest study Scientific Reports: nature.com/articles/s4159… Single-cell analysis of #Uveitis uncovers key cellular interactions driving retinal inflammation, thus providing novel therapeutic targets. Oxford-Harrington is excited to be partnering with Medical Research Council Centre of Research Excellence in Therapeutic Genomics, which is mission-aligned in transforming the treatment of rare diseases with cutting-edge genetic therapies

Our paper American Journal of Ophthalmology demonstrates strong link between slow retinal vessel growth and risk of developing #retinopathyofprematurity (ROP)-a major cause of blindness in children: authors.elsevier.com/c/1kw-PgnZOWqO Stellar work by Emer Chang, Aman Josan and Ravi Purohit!

Congratulations to our colleague Josef Huemer of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, who with Kanmin Xue of OUH, receives EURETINA's 2025 clinical research award. Josef's work will focus on using OCT and genomic data for cardiovascular disease detection. #Oculomics #euretina2025
