The Bill seeks to dissolve the Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority and mainstream its functions into the Ministry of Finance. #PlenaryUg

Finance committee chairperson, Hon.Hon.Kankunda Amos said for 5years, Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority (UMRA) collected tax and non-tax revenue amounting to Shs390bn which is significantly attributed to UMRA's mandate through regulation & supervision of Tier 4 Microfinance Institutions & Moneylenders.

The Committee of the Whole House has now convened to consider the new National Planning Authority (Amendment) Bill, 2024 clause by clause in accordance with Rule 119 of the Rules of Procedure. #PlenaryUg
