We had indirect evidence for years, that (isogenic) yeast cells exchange metabolites, metabolically specialize, and eventually, phenotypically diverge. But it was a challenge to measure it directly and to really prove it. Kudos to StephanKamrad nature.com/articles/s4156…

No…clonal young cells are not all the same!! Fantastic work by StephanKamrad and Ralser Lab in developing an isotope labeled proteomics methods to identify metabolically heterogeneous cells 👏 Awesome to be part of this work!

Super excited to be part of this year's EnterpriseTECH cohort Cambridge Enterprise as an inventor and meet everyone at launch night yesterday!

VACANCY: The Patil lab are looking for TWO Research Associates to study the modulation of microbial communities 🦠 💰 £35,308-£43,155 Apply by 30th June More info: buff.ly/3c90jr4 #ResearchJobs #ScienceJobs Kiran Raosaheb Patil

Pioneering work led by @simranolak Ralser Lab and Rodrigo Ledesma-Amaro. Complementary auxotrophies in yeast can be used to construct modular microbial consortia. Cool! nature.com/articles/s4158…

Had a lot of fun catching up with the old lab from The Francis Crick Institute today! Ralser Lab

Excited to represent the Kiran Raosaheb Patil lab at #EESMicrobiology EMBL Events with Arianna Basile

Unique chance to work with the amazing Bini Ramachandran

Great poster by Arianna Basile at #EESMicrobiology about extending CarveMe to gut bacteria!
