“I’m not sure how accurate that is.”

“Of course I tasted their food, and even if it were good it wasn’t the thing that impressed me the most. Perhaps you ran into cooks.. or generally not very interesting humans.”

“Unless they are cooks, saying that the cooking is their most worthy trait.. I’d say that’s a safe assumption, no?”

Immediately plugs his ears with both index fingers. “Don’t need to hear! No need!”

“Tried eating pumpkin. Not a fan.”

“No, no.. It’s coming soon. A day to be thankful towards others. A day for family. Isn’t that nice?”

“Of course, but since you and I will live among them.. Wouldn’t it be pleasant to live like them?”

“Don’t be ridiculous.. Who says we have to make a grand deal of it? I want to live an exciting life with you, even if it isn’t much.”

“Thanksgiving!”

“Thanksgiving.. Don’t ask me why it’s named that, it’s a bit on the nose if you ask me.”

“Each other, I believe.. Don’t.. question it… I don’t know..” He pinches the bridge of his nose. “I’m trying to do something sweet for us.”

”Yet you devour me without hesitation..” A coy smile spreads on his lips, gently poking Diego’s chest. “We don’t need to eat, but it’s still tasty.”

“I.. admittedly do not know this yet, but I shall find out!” He probably won’t be very happy about it. “I have great faith in this.”

”What? Hollows? What do you mean ‘your’ kind?” He smirks and places a hand on his chest, raising his chin ever so slightly but enough to look incredibly smug. “The handsome kind?”

“…ah. Yes.. I suppose they eat just about anything…” His friends ate fish, so it’s not a long stretch at all, but he can’t hide his disappointment. “I heard they have birds that cannot fly.. It’s tragic, really.”

“Not all of them. You know this.. What right do we have to judge them all?” He presses his lips together, lowering his gaze. “The humans are different from us.”
