In the last 5 days @kamloopsfirerescue has attended 3 structure fires. 2 were caused by our most common causes. Cooking and smoking. It's a great reminder to 'Look while you cook' and to discard your butts safely. The best way to fight fires is to prevent them in the first place

No cedars no problems. If you have cedars within 1.5 meters of your home, it greatly increases the fuel load. Maybe it’s time to remove them. Great job Earls!

This week and every week we want to take a moment to appreciate our beloved dispatchers who are an incredibly valued part of the @kamloopsfirescue team. Thank you for all you do.

Less than 48 hours after it was launched, a new FireSmart rebate program in #Kamloops has been frozen. Why? It's too successful! The program, offering up to $800 per household, is funded by the city's Climate Action Reserve.

This past weekend, Kamloops Fire Rescue, the RCMP, and Community Safety Officers responded to a report of a dog trapped beneath a dock. The teams acted swiftly to rescue the dog, which was clinging desperately in the cold, fast-moving waters of the Thompson River.
