Major General Indrek Sirel is the new commander of the Estonian Division. In 2012, he became the Assistant Chief of Staff J7 at NATO Joint Force Command Brunssum - JFCBS, leading key Ex like STEADFAST JAZZ 13 and TRIDENT JUNCTURE 15. In AUG 2021, he became Estonian Military Representative to NATO and the EU.

The new Deputy Commander of the Estonian Defence Forces is Major General Rauno Sirk. Major General Rauno Sirk has served as Estonian Military Representative at SHAPE_NATO Allied Command Operations. Prior to that, he was the Commander of the Estonian Air Force and the Commander of Ämari Air Base.

The Baltic Bikini 2024 maritime rescue exercise, held for the 20th time, concluded with nearly 60 air force personnel from 🇪🇪 Estonia, 🇱🇻 Latvia, and 🇱🇹 Lithuania. They practiced responding to air accidents, escaping aircraft in water landings, and subsequent rescue operations.

Estonian reserve officers handed over leadership to Nordic reserve soldiers at the CIOR summer congress. Estonia chaired CIOR from 2022-2024. 'We aimed to show how Estonia maintains combat readiness and organizes reserve training,' said Lt. Col. Toomas Luman.

This week, NATO Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC) will practice air-to-ground communication with Aeronautica Militare Eurofighter Typhoons in the Furious Wolf 24-2 exercise. The fighters will fly near Rakvere and Tapa performing low-altitude flights.

Training together to defend trenches. Troops from Estonia 🇪🇪 and France 🇫🇷 worked on the art of moving and fighting through trench networks learning how to quickly clear corners, root defenders out of entrenched bunkers and make fighting positions safe for follow-on forces.

The fourth rotation of instructors from Estonian Defence Forces | Eesti Kaitsevägi and the Estonian Defence League began training Ukrainian soldiers from Defense of Ukraine in the UK as part of the Interflex mission. This week, a joint exercise took place at Estonia's Ämari Air Base, where U.S. Air Force personnel trained Estonian Air Force on rapid runway repair using recovery equipment.

The European External Action Service - EEAS 🇪🇺 European Union in Mozambique operation EUMAM Mozambique has entered a new phase. The allies focus will shift to training local higher-level instructors of Mozambican military personnel. Since 2021 Estonia has been contributing to the operation with a legal advisor from Estonian Defence Forces | Eesti Kaitsevägi.
