Very excited to have finally arrived in Thailand for a collaborative research project with the Royal Police Cadet Academy. Proud to represent and be supported by Dept. of Criminal Justice & Criminology @ SHSU SHSU Criminal Justice

Last class of the Spring semester. I had a great group for Research Methods! Teaching has been everything I hoped it would be and more. Thanks, Dept. of Criminal Justice & Criminology @ SHSU, for providing Doctoral students with this great opportunity.

I appreciate this student feedback from this past semester Dept. of Criminal Justice & Criminology @ SHSU . Genuinely caring, creating an engaged learning environment, and being knowledgeable on course topics are things I care deeply about. Grateful many of the students noticed.

Successfully defended my Research Assessment Portfolio today. A huge thanks to my committee: Drs. Jurg Gerber, Jason Ingram, and Yan Zhang. I couldn’t ask for better people to work with and learn from. I’m now officially ABD🎉 Dept. of Criminal Justice & Criminology @ SHSU

Some great information from the Sam Houston State Teaching & Learning Conference. Takeaways from the keynote speech by Dr. James Lang: Instructors are cultivators of attention. Distraction is the normal condition; attention is an achievement.

Successfully defended my dissertation today and became Dr. Nielson. So appreciative of my committee members: Drs. Jurg Gerber, Yan Zhang, and Laura Iesue, PhD 🇺🇦. I have been lucky to work with such great mentors. Excited for the next chapter! Dept. of Criminal Justice & Criminology @ SHSU

Thank you Beatriz Amalfi Wronski, PhD & Victoria Laugalis for the honor of chairing exceptional dissertations! I didn't get the opportunity to be hooded, so today was even more meaningful. Congrats also to Kristina Block & Kyler Nielson- welcome to the PhD club!
