My favorite part of today’s Symposium was learning about the work that these two individuals are doing in Harris County and the work by the Texas Innocence Project. A great event! So glad several of my students were able to attend.

I appreciate this recognition from The Graduate School for the university-wide Graduate Student Appreciation Week, even with the spelling error😅. It’s not the first time😃

Had the opportunity to meet with officers and interview a colonel in the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Division at the Central Investigation Bureau. I also was able to see RTP headquarters in downtown BKK.

An important and timely piece: Taking Stock of Mass Incarceration at 50 Years. asc41.org/wp-content/upl… Especially pertinent as some of the current rhetoric attempts to recycle failed strategies and policies of the past.

Last class of the Spring semester. I had a great group for Research Methods! Teaching has been everything I hoped it would be and more. Thanks, Dept. of Criminal Justice & Criminology @ SHSU, for providing Doctoral students with this great opportunity.

I appreciate this student feedback from this past semester Dept. of Criminal Justice & Criminology @ SHSU . Genuinely caring, creating an engaged learning environment, and being knowledgeable on course topics are things I care deeply about. Grateful many of the students noticed.

Successfully defended my Research Assessment Portfolio today. A huge thanks to my committee: Drs. Jurg Gerber, Jason Ingram, and Yan Zhang. I couldn’t ask for better people to work with and learn from. I’m now officially ABD🎉 Dept. of Criminal Justice & Criminology @ SHSU

Some great information from the Sam Houston State Teaching & Learning Conference. Takeaways from the keynote speech by Dr. James Lang: Instructors are cultivators of attention. Distraction is the normal condition; attention is an achievement.
