Fabulous but very long, four-day hike on New Zealand’s stunning Heaphy Track! At age 77, carrying 20 pounds, and hiking almost 50 miles, and sleeping in communal huts, I feel powerful and in love with the beautiful nature and companionship.

Believe it or not II’m in serious training for the 4-day Heaphy Track hike here in New Zealand in March. Today was a 2-hour hike with a 15-pound pack on a hot day in hilly Wellington, which required a stop in the beautiful botanical gardens and a giant iced milky coffee! Bliss!

Friends!! be vigorous about getting all of your annual medical check ups! This is a beautiful, heartfelt message, which tells you why. Be well, be happy.

More sad running news, friends, as we salute the passing of one of our giants of race organization in Baltimore: Dave Cooley. Dave was instrumental in making our Avon Races in Baltimore World Class, but our events were just one among hundreds he put his signature on.
