We had a wonderful Pi Day with all tutor groups completing morning puzzles, Tilly remembering Pi to 99 decimal places, a fabulous Pi Cake Competition and a ‘Pi’ the Teacher event (only if you got a Maths question right!) Well done to all who took part! 🥧

In Dipo Faloyin's talk yesterday, myths & stereotypes were explored & destroyed as he spoke about his excellent book Africa is Not a Country. Delighted to welcome geographers from Denmark Road High School Sir William Romney's School and Cheltenham Ladies' College plus many more online.

Huge congratulations to our team of 2nd Form pupils who WON today’s AMSP - Advanced Mathematics Support Programme Maths Feast in Worcester! They did brilliantly, scoring almost full marks in a variety of problem solving challenges. Well done too to our other 1st and 2nd Form teams who also did fantastically!

Our budding 1st & 2nd Form Historians were engrossed in ‘A History Mystery’ in tonight’s Enrichment session with History and Politics | The King’s School! Who did kill Lord Darnley? What pieces of evidence can we trust?!

We were delighted to welcome Ben Harris to lead tonight’s 3rd & 4th Form Enrichment. Ben is behind the changes to the much-loved Latin course that we use at King’s. He explained why they needed to create a more inclusive and diverse set of textbooks, fit for the 21st Century.

With apologies to parents and siblings, tonight’s excellent Enrichment session for 1st & 2nd Form pupils on ‘How to Win an Argument’ equipped them with all the critical thinking and debating skills needed to reason their way to success in any future conflict!

Would you sell your soul for a doughnut?! 🍩 5th & 6th Form pupils considered the origins and variants of the Faustus myth across Europe, in music, literature and popular culture. And they all ate the doughnuts 🥴

Our 6th Form Mathematicians are spending the day at University of Warwick for #MathsinAction. Just had a hugely inspirational talk about Fermat’s Last Theorem by the amazing Simon Singh 🤩

Third and Fourth Form pupils considered whether the importance of ‘truth’ retains currency in contemporary politics in tonight’s excellent Enrichment session with Dr Horler-Underwood.

5th & 6th Form pupils learnt about ‘Music, Politics and the Troubles in Northern Ireland’ in tonight’s Enrichment session. They explored some of the many murals still visible and the influence of music and musicians during the troubles as well as the prospects for the future.

We were so lucky to welcome marine biologist Cathy Hobbs to lead our Enrichment session on Marine Acoustics this evening. Students learnt how global warming and noise pollution are affecting our coral reefs and how we can use innovative technology to improve the situation 🐠
