Heat advisory for most inland communities Thursday & Friday. I've actually bumped some high temps up to 100 degrees. Get the latest coming up at 6pm.

What a beautiful day on the Central Coast today! Hottest spots reached upper 80s and most coastal spots hit 70 or greater. The coolest high temp today was Moss Landing at 68 degrees, which is a really nice day for the heart of the bay. Hope you enjoyed it where ever you were!

6:45 PM: The sun is setting in the west and the moon is rising in the east. Although some coastal spots are already cloudy, southern areas still have clear skies. Clouds will continue to fill in so your best shot of viewing the moon will be in the next couple of hours.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Salinas and surrounding areas due to a strong storm producing heavy rainfall and hail. Roads in south Salinas will likely see some flooding. Do not drive through flooded roadways.

8:45 PM: Showers quickly developed into T-storms with cloud to ground lightning in Salinas. Pockets of heavy rain tonight before steady heavy rain moves in later tonight(early Thursday morning). Did you hear the thunder or see the lightning?

Well look at that! All this rain is paying off. It's starting to turn green up at Fremont Peak east of Salinas. More rain tonight into Thursday morning.

4:30 PM: People are out enjoying the lower than normal tides.. King Tides also bring higher than normal tides the next couple days. High tide is around 8:45 AM Thursday & 9:30 AM Friday. Use caution at the coast, as water can quickly come up beaches and paths.

3:45 PM: What a gorgeous, sunny day in the 70s for much of the Central Coast! Still cooler from Hollister to the Bay Area due to the tule fog in the Central Valley where afternoon temps remain in the 40s.

5 PM: Finally some clouds on the Central Coast to help paint a lovely sunset.

4:10 PM: Well look at that! The marine layer is back on the Central Coast and the Tule Fog has finally cleared out of the Central Valley. We also had some light showers this AM! Exciting sign of big changes on the way. Get your rain forecast coming up at 5, 6 & 11 on KSBW

5:30 PM: A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for the coast until 9PM tonight. Areas of dense fog will likely continue into early tomorrow morning with some patchy fog inland, too.
