We understand virtually all NI-based academics approached, would not be part of this.

When we met with Lord Caine, Anna Bryson asked what the purpose of the official history was: response was that the British Government was entitled to put forward its version of history.

However, lawyers say police won’t launch an inquiry before the Legacy Act comes in on May 1, which will shield perpetrators. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan…

Britain’s Troubles Legacy Act will bring to an end ongoing inquests such as that into the murder of Sean Brown. “Hiding behind legal thuggery”, was how the family solicitor Niall Murphy characterised the legislation. “On the first of May, justice dies.”

is a fantastic documentary so far. Another case of collusion that stinks to high heaven. No wonder the British gov wants to draw line under investigations, when the 'slow waltz' of lumbering probes wasn't enough. The callous disregard for families. Barbaric.

This is a hugely important programme. Sean Brown could have been any administrator in any club at the time. His family deserve answers & they have shown enormous dignity in their campaign.

This is on tonight, a documentary on the Seán Brown case. If the chairman of a GAA club in Tralee or Thurles or Salthill or Glasnevin had been kidnapped and murdered, there's no way his family would be waiting for answers 27 years later. Bellaghy should be no different.

Sean Brown could have been any chairman of any GAA club. A completely innocent man. His widow Bridie took out a torch at 2.30am and walked the roads looking for him. Still the family are denied answers
