To help reinforce their learning, build confidence, and make recalling information easier, our Year 12 students are taking part in a revision workshop this morning to arm themselves with the skills needed to help ensure they are well-prepared for their upcoming key assessments.

It's time to celebrate our maths student stars. Well done to everyone for working hard in class, on their homework and their revision schedules too!

Yesterday we took members of our Kingsmeadow Creative Writing Club to the The Lit and Phil in Newcastle to take part in a creative writing workshop where they armed themselves with even more resources and planning tools to help them to enter the upcoming creative writing competition.

In their English lessons our Year 9 students have been studying language and power writing which explores how language is used to show, create, or challenge power between people or groups. We had some fantastic submissions for the year group, and here are the winners.

Helping to develop physical and social skills, our Dodgeball Extravaganza is back this half term, giving our Year 7 to 10 students the opportunity to compete for the Kingsmeadow Cup. Last year's event was a huge success, and years 9 and 10 kicked off this competition.

In a rich study of exploring mathematical concepts, problem-solving methods, and real-world applications of abstract concepts, our Key Stage 3 students have been learning about the Four Colour Theorem in their maths lesson, and we are proud to showcase some of their work here.

Our Year 13 students were focusing on the coefficient of friction this morning, and in this mechanics based experiment they used various objects and an inclinometer to measure angles for their calculations. Very clever!

Our extracurricular activities contribute to our students overall well-being, and help them to develop core and transferable leadership, team working, problem-solving and communication skills. We've updated our programme this week, with the extra offering of Trampoline Club.

In preparation for their upcoming visit to the Auschwitz Memorial, six of our Year 12 students took part in an interactive seminar with H.E.T. yesterday. Our students were privileged to hear directly from Annick Lever BEM, a Holocaust survivor.

Thank you very much to Vertu who hosted our Business Studies students this morning for a tour of their head office and the opportunity to ask key members of the purchasing team some questions about their business. It was such an interesting, and very informative visit.

We are treating our students to the tasty delights of Türkiye this week with a special lunch themed menu. Yum!

Our word of the week helps our students to build a stronger vocabulary and improve their communication skills. It's Monday which means we have a new word. Well done to the latest winning form groups 7JBU, 8LMU, 9HBA, 10LRI and 11CBD.

Disneyland Paris update Following their attendance at a business seminar earlier today, our students bumped into some of the Disney princesses, and are now enjoying the park's rides. 😀

Our reigning chess champion, Mr Barrett, was defeated in a match last week during Games Club. The new Kingsmeadow Community School Champion is Year 9 student, Lyad A. 👏👏👏 Mr Barrett says that he is not bitter, but that there will be a rematch. 😆😆 Well done Lyah!
