Spent the day celebrating student success grown out of Creativity Lab and then diving into and planning for how we can move our work forward.

Had fun with 2nd graders looking in their portfolios and identifying evidence of their Creative & Critical Thinking skills. They were surprised at their growth over the past 101 days!!

Loved being able to support 3rd grade with their content area research unit as students take on the role of website designer.

This week students in 2nd and 3rd grade took some time to learn about how they can use their evidence to reflect on how they used their Creative and Critical Thinker skills during our recent PBL.

Started the day with an amazing conversation with our ESOL team around digital tools that could help our students create evidence of their growth as communicators over time. SO excited to see these ideas come to life with kids!!

When you walk by the mail room and overhear two teachers sharing ideas about how they are getting their kinder and first grade students reflecting on their POG skills 🎉🎉 What a way to start a Friday!!

Now my Friday afternoon has been made! A different first grade teacher just sent me this picture after having her students reflect on how they have been a communicator. Love seeing how opportunities for our students to reflect on POG are growing!! ⭐️

Last week I was honored to accept an FCPS Excellence Award. It has been a highlight of my career to support the growth of POG at Coates. I am proud to work at a school that has prioritized innovative ways to bring these important skills to our students.

Loved the time we had today to reconnect with our POG POL cohort. We started by thinking about one great thing that has happened on our journey so far. Amazing hearing how students of all grade levels are using learned language to recognize use of POG skills.

Celebrating the success of our first POG POL cohort at Coates. These 12 amazing teachers grew so much AND provided the opportunity for 233 students to participate in Presentations of Learning!! I have loved supporting growing this very important work.
