I led a panel Fri. for new(er) researchers, and a panelist made special efforts to talk abt in/exclusion criteria. We exclude "messy" people (e.g. ESL, trans ppl, comorbidities, unclear dx etc.) to get stronger signal and (surprise!) end up w less-generalizable findings.
