Over 3 nights #KJMartuRangers checked the health of 13 rock holes, soaks + wells. Finding signs of #Camels at each + #BuffelGrass prevalent at 5 sites. These #InvasivePests threaten #CulturalSites + habitats of #IconicAustralianSpecies . Rangers monitor + manage these threats.

On a trip with #KJMartuRangers , Elder Nola shared stories of the 1980s #HomelandsMovement . The team were on-Country monitoring #NorthernQuoll , using Nola's traditional knowledge. These trips support #Conservation and strengthen #MartuCulture  for #FutureGenerations .

🌙🦜 Discover the secrets of the elusive #NightParrot at @Western Australian Museum! Once thought to be extinct, this rare bird was rediscovered in 2013. Today, the vital work of Indigenous ranger groups, like #KJMartuRangers , plays a key role in its survival.

#KJMartuJuniorRanger Quincy learnt traditional goanna hunting from #KJMartuRanger Bert Lane. #Martu have been hunting goanna for thousands of years. The small fires made during hunting reduce the risk of bushfires + support threatened species.

At #JigalongRemoteCommunitySchool , students learned about #Martu #SkinGroups , reinforcing #CulturalConnections . They were excited to received wristbands from #KJMartu Cultural Advisor Heather, displaying #SkinNames + to learn what to call each other based on these groups.

#KJMartuCaregivers joined a #FASD workshop in Newman + had meaningful discussions with the team at Telethon Kids Institute. Our KJ Women + Families Program empowers #MartuWomen in their children's growth + fosters #TwoWayHealthcare approaches for #MartuFamilies .

While surveying burnt Country, #KJMartuRangers found abandoned #GreaterBilby burrows now home to #Goannas . Even more exciting, they found fresh burrows, young bilby tracks, and signs of grub-hunting!  #CaringForCountry   #GreaterBilby Conservation

#KJMartuRangers protect water sources, which are significant to #MartuCulture + #DesertWildlife . They're tackling problems caused by feral camels, which erode + foul the water. Their work ensures these important landmarks are preserved for future generations. #CaringForCountry

#KJMartuRangers used #TraditionalKnowledge of #Wiminyji ( #NorthernQuoll ) habitats + expert #TrackingSkills to locate sites with recent activity. They installed sensor cameras to capture insights into the Wiminyji population in these areas + their social interactions.
