We’re looking forward to welcoming OE Tom Claughton (2014) for a virtual talk this afternoon to discuss his role as Refugee Resettlement Employment Officer Coventry City Council and his studies at the University of Oxford: BA in Modern Languages (French and Italian) and MSc in Migration Studies.
Very excited to receive my copy yesterday Liz Palmer it’s a beautiful publication. Many congratulations John Garth #middleearth #Tolkien
Me! And SchoolArchive I suspect 🤔
Delighted with this EBay find King Edward VI High School for Girls prefects, 1946. Interesting uniform variation 🤔 #archives
And another EBay gem to add to the Camp Hill Girls Sch collections. Lots of interesting images inc. #cricket in 1926 and the ubiquitous Swedish Drill! #archives
Many have been using this period of lockdown to get fitter. How about trying a form of exercise which existed before the advent of mainstream competitive sport in education - the Swedish Drill? Read about it in our newest KE Archive blog post bit.ly/2CclfeO
Happy 69th birthday to the "Godfather of Black British Photography", #Birmingham's very own Vanley Burke Vanley Burke.
I’ve been writing today. Uppermost in my mind have been Hinterland Magazine UEA Archives KE Archive & of course #TheReacherGuy himself. I am struck by how much the archivist has in common with Jack Reacher ... (Plus an archival scrap of my own from Jack Reacher Books #ThrillerFest 2017)
Loved doing this interview with Jack Reacher Books for Tes magazine on a subject very close to my heart ... And reading his school reports from King Edward's School for the #TheReacherGuy was great fun. “Paddles his own canoe.”
Heartfelt thanks from Jack Reacher Books to his old English and drama teacher King Edward's School Mr Parslew, co-star of my authorised biography #TheReacherGuy - see especially chapter 17, ‘Gentleman Jim’. Here is my interview with Lee aka Jim Grant (1973) for Tes magazine tes.com/news/lee-child…
