Yesterday, I was honored to host FHFA Director Sandra Thompson in Kansas City to talk about housing. Our first stop was the KC Tenants headquarters to hear about the lived experiences of tenants in enterprise-backed properties in #MO05.

We heard story after story of unacceptable conditions provided by landlords with enterprise-backed financing. I’m thankful for those who attended the meeting to share their story—and I look forward to bringing them back to Washington so we can make desperately needed reforms.

We live in a world where the conditions destroy our babies and then blame us for the circumstances. Parker Webb neglected his property and the safety of his tenants and now a parent’s baby is dead and the state places blame at their feet. We deserve better. 💔
